Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to vote in 2020. Many races hang in the balance this year, not just the Presidential election. Your vote might be the one that changes everything! Here are answers to questions you might have.

How do I find out who's running?

Mecklenburg County Democratic Party publishes a list of Democrats who will be on Mecklenburg voters' ballots. We call it the "Blue Ballot."

Click here for a printable version of the 2020 MCDP Blue Ballot, in English and Spanish. Your exact ballot will depend on what districts you live in. You can find your districts here by entering your address.

At Votesmart.org, you can see info about your representatives and some candidates. You can also research candidates and representatives via local media outlets.

The Mecklenburg County Board of Elections has a list of ALL candidates with links to some of their websites and social media.

Where do I vote?

One-Stop Early In-Person Voting has ENDED.

On Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020), you should vote at your POLLING PLACE, a set place where all residents of your voting precinct can vote on Election Day. Find out your polling place here. Enter your info, click on your name, then click on "Election Day Polling Place."
The deadline to request an absentee ballot request has passed.
If you still have your Absentee Ballot and need to submit it, the NC Board of Elections strongly recommends you return your ballot to the Board of Elections in-person to ensure it arrives on time. If you mail it instead, it must be postmarked by November 3. Only you, a near relative, or legal guardian may mail or hand-deliver the Return Envelope.

What about accessibility?

  • NC voters can vote in a vehicle "curbside" because of age, physical disability, or physical barriers which prevent a voter from entering the voting enclosure without physical assistance. Sites will have signage for curbside voting.
  • NC law allows a voter to have an immediate family member help them get in and out of a voting booth and prepare a ballot. Depending on physical ability or lack of literacy, a voter may be allowed to have a non-family helper of their choice (more info here).
  • Federal and state requirements mandate that voting systems be equipped for voters with disabilities. Every voting precinct and every One-Stop Absentee site is required to have at least one accessible machine.
  • The State Board of Elections welcomes feedback about their systems at (866) 522-4723 or elections.sboe@ncsbe.gov.
